Progress shouldn’t be reduced to pattern recognition and number crunching. AI helps apply what’s known — but creating something new? That stays human. Whether we want to change that is an ethical question. And yes, it can make pretty pictures.

What it can also do — if used wisely: It has the potential not just to translate cultural and linguistic identity, but to carry it. With stance. With resonance. Sometimes it even manages to preserve the essence of language — the tone that lives between the lines.
